Biography

After working in the advertising industry for many years in Germany, Switzerland as well as Australia, Marlen Przibilla-Osman finally had the opportunity to follow her true passion, painting.

 

In 1985 Marlen attended the renowned Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, where in 1991 she obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts and Graphics.

 

Since then Marleen has continued painting and as well as exhibiting her work in several different Emerging Artists venues & Galleries in the Netherlands, under the alias Guru. Today she is as busy as ever, creating new works of art as well as exhibiting her work at local venues. Her work has also been used for publications 

 

Artist's Statement

For me painting is an essential part of my life. It is my way of processing all my emotions as well as working through past experiences. I would say that my paintbrush is a tool through which I express my feelings.

 

For the past years I have focused more on painting Landscapes to express my different moods and emotions.

 

My design works are more of conceptual expression, to express certain messages by using metaphors, colors and symbols.
